Israel Honors Tsvi Gal; AT&T Leader Receives Einstein Award

BASKING RIDGE, N.J., April 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Tsvi Gal received the Einstein Award, one of the State of Israel's highest honors, at a special ceremony held in Jerusalem on March 19, 2001. The Einstein Award is given to outstanding leaders in science and technology from around the world for their entrepreneurship and innovation. The medals are awarded by the President of Israel, Mr. Moshe Katzav and presented by the Mayor of Jerusalem, Mr. Ehud Olmert, and were presented to some of the world's most senior information technology leaders. Gal was recognized for building the first electronic banking solution over the Internet in his previous position at Wells Fargo. Gal, who was born in Israel and was the sole "native son" recipient this year, has broad and deep experience in managing and leading technology organizations, as well as experience in research and analysis of companies for investment purposes via venture capital funds. He has built and run IT organizations, serving in various capacities such as Chief Technology Officer, Chief Information Officer and senior technology leader at Merrill Lynch, ABN AMRO Bank, Bank of America, Wells Fargo & Company and Marsh & McLennan.
