And Linux Capabilities for Small and Remote Offices

Aug 13, 2001, 01:00 ET from Integrated Telecom Express, Inc.

SAN JOSE, Calif. and SUNNYVALE, Calif., Aug. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Filanet,
the innovator of the InterJak Internet Service Appliance, and Integrated
Telecom Express, Inc. (Nasdaq: ITXI) ("ITeX(TM)"), a leading provider of ADSL
integrated circuits and software, today announced a strategic relationship to
 integrate high-performance, Linux-based, ADSL functionality into Filanet's
InterJak 200 Internet Service Appliance. Powered by ITeX's Apollo 3 ADSL PCI
chipset and Linux driver software, the InterJak 200 promises a cost-effective
broadband Internet access solution for small and remote offices.
Dore Rosenblum, Filanet's VP of sales and marketing states, "We chose
ITeX's Apollo 3 ADSL chipset for the InterJak 200 because of its broad range
of interoperability with all major Central Office DSLAMs and superior
management and diagnosis capabilities. With ITeX as a strategic partner, we
are assured of comprehensive and innovative solutions to meet all the markets'
 DSL needs."
"We are very pleased that Filanet has selected our Apollo 3 ADSL PCI
chipset and Linux driver software with network protocol support," says
Jow Peng, ITeX VP of marketing. "Filanet's ADSL-ready InterJak 200 combines a
complete networking package with a wide variety of enhanced services to
deliver an ideal solution to the small and remote office markets."
The InterJak 200 Internet Service Appliance is a simple device that is
designed to allow small and remote offices to easily set up "plug-and-play"
networks to share Internet access, files and printers, and network services.
Service providers can quickly and easily set up managed, integrated LAN and
WAN solutions for their small business customers using the InterJak platform
to enhance operational efficiency while reducing costs. In addition to
standard network services such as IP routing, network address translation,
address services, file and print sharing, and network attached storage,
service providers can provide InterJak users with enhanced options such as
VPNs, firewalls, content filtering, network monitoring, traffic shaping, and
 email servers.
With the integrated ADSL modem based on the ITeX chipset, InterJak 200
users do not have to purchase any external device or worry about compatibility
issues in order to connect to the Internet. In addition to the ADSL version,
the InterJak 200 also features SDSL and ISDN S/T versions as well as a no-WAN
 version.
The Apollo 3 chipset is fully compliant with ANSI T1.413 Issue 2, and ITU
G.dmt and G.lite standards. It is capable of operating at up to 8 Mbps
downstream from Central Office (CO) to Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) and
 800 Kbps upstream. ITeX's easy-to-install software and patented auto-sensing
multimode support simplify self-installation by ADSL subscribers to
accommodate the different ADSL standards deployed in COs. The ITeX ADSL
chipset and Linux software solution interoperates with all major CO DSLAM
 equipment.
