New Subsidiary Part of Strategic Corporate Focus on Expanding Direct

Presence in UK, US and Selected European Markets

Apr 24, 2001, 01:00 ET from Izodia

    BROOMFIELD, Colo., April 24 /PRNewswire Interactive News Release/ --
E-commerce leader, Izodia (formerly Infobank), today announced the opening of
its new direct operation in Amsterdam to serve the Benelux countries. The new
subsidiary marks the company's first direct entry into continental Europe
since its acquisition of Absalon Group AB which serves Sweden, Finland and
Norway, and follows the company's strategic focus announced last week of
establishing a direct presence in the UK, US and selected European markets
that represent significant revenue opportunities. Izodia also announced the
appointment of Harry Lieferink as Managing Director of the new Benelux
subsidiary. The announcements follow the general availability of Izodia's
InTrade 5, which began shipping in January 2001.
A recent survey on the state of global B2B commissioned by Izodia found
that the US and the Netherlands lead the way as early adopters of B2B
e-commerce. Seventy-five percent of the companies surveyed in the Netherlands
have already implemented or are in the process of implementing a B2B
initiative, making it a robust market for B2B e-commerce solutions.
Mr. Lieferink, a native of the Netherlands, brings almost seventeen years
of IT sales and senior management experience to Izodia. He joins Izodia from
data warehouse and Web portal specialist, ShowCase Corporation, where he was
General Manager for the Dutch subsidiary. Previously, he was also Managing
Director of the Dutch subsidiary of the Harvey Nash Group, an IT services and
recruitment company, as well as Managing Director of enterprise system
software specialists, PLATIMUM technology. Mr. Lieferink has successfully and
consistently exceeded revenue targets and grown the local customer bases in
all three companies he has managed. At Izodia, he will be responsible for
building a highly focused sales and sales support team, and will also explore
avenues for establishing additional channel relationships throughout the
 region.
"The Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg are early adopter markets, have a
high proportion of large global businesses, and represent significant revenue
opportunities for B2B e-commerce," said Mr. Lieferink. "By establishing a
direct presence, we intend to pursue buy-side, sell-side and marketplace
e-commerce prospects in both large and mid-tier organizations alike."
