brightest teens are showcased and the community is given a special insight
into their accomplishments and future goals. "The Program exemplifies what
Jeopardy! represents. It's a great fit!"
In the tournament, players compete in a series of five shows the first
week. The winners of those games and the four highest money earners go on to
the semi-finals and the three winners of those shows proceed to a two-game
finals match. The three finalists keep the money they accumulate in the last
two games with a minimum guarantee of $10,000 for third place, and $15,000 for
second place. The overall winner is guaranteed $50,000 or the best of their
two day total, plus a brand new Chevrolet Geo Tracker! Players eliminated in
the semi-finals each pocket $5000, while each player is guaranteed at least
$2500. In addition, all of our contestants will receive a $2500 shopping
 spree from Yahoo!
Nearly 10,000 students sent in requests to audition for the Teen
Tournament. Contestant interviews were held in cities nationwide.
