John Deere Recognizes Johnson Controls for Outstanding Performance

 Johnson Controls, Inc. (NYSE:   JCI), a leading global supplier of automotive
 and commercial batteries, for its superior quality products and delivery
 performance in 2000.
     Johnson Controls recently received a John Deere Achieving Excellence Award
 for outstanding supplier performance through the John Deere Commercial and
 Consumer Equipment plant in Horicon, Wis.  Johnson Controls supplies original
 equipment batteries manufactured at its Geneva, Ill. facility to John Deere
 for lawn and garden equipment John Deere produces in Horicon.
     In addition to the award, John Deere also named Johnson Controls as a Key
 Supplier for the John Deere Horicon Works facility.
