"JumpStart is honored to have been recognized by our peers with this award," said Ray Leach, CEO of JumpStart. "Access to capital is one of the biggest barriers to early-stage company growth, and we work every day to make it easier for companies to get the funding their progress requires. Our work is a reflection of the commitment of the Ohio public and private sectors to entrepreneurship and more specifically, to increasing the flow of capital in the region."

SSTI President and CEO, Dan Berglund, commented, "JumpStart's success demonstrates that well-executed capital initiatives can help catalyze entrepreneurship. In just a few short years, JumpStart has shown its ability to seed successful companies and create high-paying jobs."

Another organization within Ohio, TechColumbus, was also a winner of one of the six awards from SSTI. The Columbus-based organization was the sole winner in the Building Entrepreneurial Capacity category. Both JumpStart and TechColumbus receive significant support from Ohio Third Frontier, a program of the state which catalyzes innovation to transform Ohio's economy. "For two of the six national winners to be supported by Ohio Third Frontier demonstrates the national leadership of the Third Frontier program and the ecosystem it is creating," said Leach.

JumpStart and TechColumbus received the awards today at the SSTI's 13th Annual Conference in Overland Park, KS.
