        Canada, Argentina and Spain Lead World in Napster Penetration
 
     WHAT:   Jupiter Media Metrix (Nasdaq: JMXI), the global leader in market
             intelligence, reports February 2001 Napster usage statistics for
             13 leading wired countries, including Argentina, Australia,
             Brazil, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain,
             Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States.  These
             countries represent more than 85 percent of the total worldwide
             online population.
 
     KEY
     STATS: -- In February 2001 Napster, the controversial music file-swapping
               application, was used by 14.3 percent of online users at home in
               thirteen leading wired countries.
            -- Canada had the largest percentage of its online audience using
               the Napster service.  Napster's Canadian audience reach in
               February 2001 was 30.3 percent, Argentina's was 25.0 percent,
               Spain's was 23.8 percent and Brazil's was 18.8 percent.
            -- Meanwhile, the U.S. led according to the total number of Napster
               users.  In February 2001, the U.S. had 13.6 million, Canada had
               4.0 million, Germany had 1.9 and Italy had 1.2 million.
            -- Canada and Spain led according to frequency of Napster usage
               with the average surfer using the application 6.3 days per
               month.

               Users control and define the music offering, so the experience
               is compelling regardless of geography or language.  As such, it
               is one of the few real-time global marketplaces of culture.
               This increases the stakes in the battle over copyright
               protection being fought now in American courts between Napster
