Kaufmann's University Heights Stays Open During Construction of New Store

    PITTSBURGH, April 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Kaufmann's Department Store reconfirms
 that its University Heights store will remain open during the construction of
 its new store at this location.  The construction of the new store on the
 existing property has necessitated the closing of the Warrensville Road
 entrances to the parking lot.  The Cedar Road entrance and parking lots are
 all open.  The new store is scheduled to open in Spring 2002.
     Mr. Craig Israel, Kaufmann's President and CEO, said, "Although we regret
 the inconvenience to our customers caused by this construction, we are
 proud to support the revitalization of the University Heights neighborhood
