Keane, Inc. Provides Application Management Services to Prudential Real Estate and Relocation Services

Contract Includes SEI CMM Level 3 Compliance

Apr 26, 2001, 01:00 ET from Keane, Inc.

BOSTON, April 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Leading business and information
technology (IT) consulting firm Keane, Inc. (Amex: KEA) today announced that
it will provide Application Development and Management (ADM) outsourcing
services to Prudential Real Estate and Relocation Services, a Prudential
company. By assuming the management of Prudential Real Estate and Relocations
Services' applications, Keane is enabling the company to improve efficiency
and focus internal resources on new strategic IT initiatives.
Keane has provided services to Prudential Real Estate and Relocation
Services since 1997 and will continue to support over 50 of the unit's
applications including legacy, mainframe, client server, and web enabled
 applications.
"We needed to find a way to accelerate the deployment of our eBusiness
platform including the continued development of our award winning extranet,
Relocation Center, while maintaining a high level of service for our existing
applications," said Walt Clark, executive vice president, Information
Technology, Prudential Real Estate and Relocation Services. "We've always
enjoyed a successful working relationship with Keane, and we feel strongly
that Keane can help us achieve our goals."
Keane will utilize its Application Management Methodology (AMM), a renown
process for managing large-scale technology assignments, to insure a smooth
transition and continued high-quality service to Prudential Real Estate and
Relocation Services. By using this methodology, Keane plans to achieve Level
3 compliance with the Software Engineering Institute's (SEI) Capability
Maturity Model (CMM), which distinguishes quality software development
practices. The CMM is recognized within the IT industry as the standard for
measuring the effectiveness of IT development and management processes. It
provides a framework for improving the overall quality of application design,
allowing quicker development cycles, lower production application support
costs, significant reductions in rework, and quicker corporate response time.
Keane has taken 35 clients to CMM Level 3 or above -- an industry milestone.
"Keane's exceptional track record in attaining Level 3 on the SEI's
Capability Maturity Model is critical to us as we focus on continual
improvement of our processes to reduce costs and improve quality," Clark
continued. "The fact that Keane committed to take the project to Level 3 in
the 12-month time period we require is a testament to their capabilities in
 that area."
"Keane has a strong reputation as a delivery-focused organization, and we
work hard to maintain the quality of our client relations. Our dedication to
client success is what sets us apart," said Chuck Weiss, managing director of
Keane's Connecticut branch office. "Prudential Real Estate and Relocation
Services required a new level of service from us to reduce their costs and
improve performance. Keane's ADM solution, project management expertise, and
commitment to their success will help Prudential Real Estate and Relocation
Services attain their financial goals while freeing up their IT staff to
 develop more strategic initiatives."
