Kenneth D. DeGiorgio Named Vice President and Associate General Counsel Of The First American Corporation

 (NYSE:   FAF), the nation's leading, diversified provider of business
 information and related products and services, today announced that Kenneth D.
 DeGiorgio has been named vice president and associate general counsel.
     DeGiorgio's responsibilities include serving as the company's acquisition
 counsel.  Working closely with a small team of company officers, he negotiates
 and establishes contract relationships with companies that are the subject of
 acquisition by the company.  He also advises the company on its securities
 matters.
     Additionally, DeGiorgio manages the company's national political action
 efforts, serving as the head of the company's political action committee and
 managing various outside resources to ensure the company's voice in national
 issues of significance.  He also serves as the chief privacy officer for the
 company, working with each of the product companies to assure their compliance
 with the company's high privacy standards and emerging industry guidelines.
     In addition to his new duties, DeGiorgio will continue to serve as vice
 president of First American's principal subsidiary, First American Title
 Insurance Company.
     DeGiorgio began his career in 1997 as an associate in the Los Angeles
 office of White & Case, a law firm based in New York.  In 1999, he joined
 First American as regulatory counsel.  A California native, DeGiorgio
 graduated with honors from Harvard University before attending UCLA School of
 Law, where he earned a juris doctor degree; and Anderson Graduate School of
 Management at UCLA, where he received a master's degree in business
 administration.  DeGiorgio resides in Long Beach, Calif. with his wife,
 Nichol.
