Kingston First in Memory Enhancement Industry To Receive Intel RIMM Validation for 512MB RIMM Modules

Kingston Ships 512MB 800MHz RIMM Modules to Customers

Apr 25, 2001, 01:00 ET from Kingston Technology Company, Inc.

    FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., April 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Kingston(R) Technology
Company, Inc., the world's leading independent manufacturer of memory
products, announced today that its 512MB 800MHz RIMM modules have passed
Intel(R) Corporation's Validation Testing on the Intel 850GB chipset platform.
Kingston is first in the memory enhancement industry to offer the highest
density 512MB RIMM modules, running up to 800MHz. The modules are based on
the newly released 256-megabit RDRAM chips from several semiconductor
 manufacturers.

Available now, the high-density 512MB RIMM modules are well suited for
high-end customers with memory intensive applications that have invested in
the Intel Pentium(R) 4 platform. Complementing the Pentium 4 chipset with
Kingston 512MB RIMM memory will allow users to maximize their system's memory
capacity and reach new levels of performance.
"This successful validation of Kingston's newest RIMM modules confirms
Kingston's engineering and production capabilities to produce fully-compliant
RIMM modules," said Wai Szeto, Vice President, Strategic Business Development,
Kingston. "Kingston continues to ramp up RIMM module shipments in support of
the Intel Pentium 4, and expects shipments to steadily increase in the first
 half of 2001," added Szeto.
"Kingston's successful validation of 512MB RIMM modules will provide the
industry with much needed high capacity modules," said Steve Chen at Rambus
Inc. "Users running demanding applications require the largest memory
configuration to achieve optimum performance and with all four RIMM sockets
populated, Kingston can provide customers with 2GB of memory."
Kingston's RIMM module designs first go through extensive engineering
testing, prior to being sent to Intel for system validation testing. Test
results, which demonstrate Kingston's RIMM modules can be found on the Intel
 website at:
