The Knight of Diamonds Gala is an effort by Penn State Alumni to help raise awareness and funds for the Penn State Dance Marathon. It provides a platform for those alumni to stay involved and continue to touch new lives in hopes to beat this terrible disease.

Since 1977, Penn Staters have been coming together annually to support the Four Diamonds Fund raising an astounding $59 million in an effort to find a cure for pediatric cancer through the Penn State Dance Marathon. "THON", as it is referred to by those who have experienced it, is billed the largest student-run philanthropy in the world. This year's event in February raised more than $9 million dollars, shattering the previous 2010 record by nearly $2 million.

The MC for the event is Kevin Kelly. Kevin Kelly was an Academic All-Big Ten placekicker at Penn State. He holds Penn State's career scoring record and is currently a PE teacher.

Our two keynote speakers are Dr. Asher Marks and the Golden Family. Dr. Marks completed his general training in pediatrics and currently serves as a hematology/oncology fellow at Children's National Medical Center. His current research efforts focus on potential molecular targets of medulloblastoma, the most common malignant brain tumor found in children.

The Golden Family has been impacted by pediatric cancer since their son Trent was diagnosed with cancer. Trent is one of the lucky children who at the gala will be just shy of five years cancer free! The Golden Family will share their story and explain how the Four Diamonds Fund supports the children and families in their struggle to conquer this disease.

Gala attendees will enjoy first-class dining with a gourmet 3-course dinner, drinks and entertainment. The gala will also feature a silent auction including a 20x30" Beaver Stadium painting and a Strasburg-signed baseball.
