Apr 18, 2001, 01:00 ET from Knowledge House Inc.

HALIFAX, April 18 /PRNewswire/ - Knowledge House Inc. (TSE:KHI) today
announced it has received $2,000,000 from the issue of common shares from
treasury. The shares were purchased by investors by way of private placement
and the exercise of warrants previously issued. The proceeds from the share
issue will be used as working capital to fund Knowledge House's ongoing growth
 and development.
"We are pleased to have completed this equity issue during a very
challenging period in the capital markets," said Dan Potter, Chair and CEO of
Knowledge House. "We have been developing a suite of new, transformational, e-
learning programs and software over the past two years and our ongoing ability
to raise capital has been critical to our success in bringing these products
 to market," Mr. Potter concluded.
The KEY Certification(TM) Program and the Advanced Studies program,
hosted on the company's SmarterTeams(TM) e-learning platform, are among the e-
learning products that have been developed and are currently being marketed by
 Knowledge House.
The KEY Certification(TM) Program, offered in partnership with The
Conference Board of Canada, addresses the critical skills gap associated with
employability and technology skills in the knowledge economy. Targeted to
secondary and post-secondary students, as well as individuals entering, or
 already in the workforce.
Knowledge House's Advanced Studies program is an innovative advanced, web-
enabled learning program for Grade 11 and 12 students that meets the outcomes
for high school graduation and provides students with the opportunity to
qualify for undergraduate university credits and advanced standing. The two-
year program, comprised of eight, fully-integrated modules, built around
highly engaging learning challenges, distinguishes itself from other advanced
studies programs such as the Advanced Placement Program(TM) or the
International Baccalaureate(TM) by virtue of its multidisciplinary,
collaborative, problem-based learning curriculum that leverages the Internet
and related technologies. The Advanced Studies program is currently scheduled
to be available for delivery commencing September 2001.
SmarterTeams(TM), believed to be the world's first and only e-learning
platform for collaborative, problem-based learning, represents a breakthrough
in the marriage of technology and learning design to enhance learning
outcomes. Best described as a "learning environment", SmarterTeams(TM) enables
a highly personalized learning experience for each learner and team of
learners as they work through challenging, multidisciplinary problems,
designed to achieve rigorous academic outcomes.
