Leading Veteran's Charity Launches 'Messages of Hope' Website and 'Buy a Pixel' Campaign

Dec 30, 2009, 11:32 ET from Wounded Warriors Family Support

WASHINGTON, Dec. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Just in time for the holidays, Wounded Warriors Family Support, a leading non-profit, military family assistance organization, has launched a new webpage, "Messages of Hope," www.supportwoundedwarriors.org, to help raise funds for Wounded Warriors Family Support programs. Significant among them is the building of the very special Wounded Warriors Family Support Retreat on 80 acres of beautiful, ponderosa-studded land in the northwest Nebraska high country.

Visitors to the new webpage can purchase pixel blocks on a large, digital American flag, allowing them to send a message of support to our troops. "Our goal is to completely fill the million pixel grid with heartfelt messages of love and hope for our troops and their families," explained Wounded Warriors Family Support founder and president Colonel John D. Folsom, USMCR.

"This is especially important now during the holiday season when our service members and their families feel the strain the most. We encourage all to buy pixels to wish our troops a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!" added Folsom.

Purchasing a pixel block also allows the contributor to add a link to their business or personal website and upload a photo or logo of their choice.

"We believe this is a great way for individuals, organizations and businesses to help support the troops and their families," said Colonel Folsom, "while also increasing visibility for their own business or group."

Wounded Warriors Family Support runs various military assistance programs and owns resort properties in Texas and Florida which provide quiet havens, free of charge, for wounded warriors and their families, and the families of those killed in action. Candidates for Wounded Warriors Family Support programs apply and qualify via: www.woundedwarriorsfamilysupport.org.

When completed, The Wounded Warriors Family Support Retreat www.woundedwarriorsretreat.org "will provide military families scarred by war a serene, safe, family-friendly place for a week to reconnect and heal," says Colonel Folsom, adding, "A pixel donation through our "Messages of Hope" website will help make this worthy project a reality."
