First Product Ship Slated for May 2001

Jan 08, 2001, 00:00 ET from Cyrus InterSoft, Inc.

BEIJING and MINNEAPOLIS, Jan. 8 /PRNewswire/ Legend Computer, a fully
owned subsidiary of Legend Holdings Limited (HKSE: 992) and a top-ranking
computer manufacturer in Asia, and Cyrus InterSoft, Inc., a leading provider
of pervasive computing technology, today announced a formal technology
alliance. Legend's Software Division and Cyrus InterSoft(TM) are partnering
to design and build several network appliances that will leverage Legend's
Happy Linux embedded operating system and Cyrus InterSoft's Internet Operating
 System, Speiros(TM).
The first joint product from this alliance is JoyNet(R), a set-top box
that enables users to access the Internet and a number of useful applications
in real time through a standard television set. JoyNet combines innovative
technologies from both companies to present a product that provides far more
functionality and flexibility than standard set-top boxes available today.
JoyNet is designed to enable users to access the Internet through either
narrowband or broadband connections. With the use of the "picture in picture"
function, users can watch TV and access the Internet at the same time, fully
realizing interactive television. JoyNet's media player technology, using
Cyrus' Speiros technology as a middle part enables users to run games and
other applications requiring sophisticated graphics. By using an infrared
keyboard and remote control, users can operate JoyNet remotely for even
 greater convenience.
Mr. Scott Bayless, the CEO and founder of Cyrus InterSoft, noted, "Speiros
is a distributed Internet system designed to enable a real-time distribution
channel for delivering applications and services to a variety of new Internet
appliances. Legend Computer has recognized the value of Speiros and is
actively working with Cyrus in our development of the Speiros Value Network --
a Federation of Chinese companies (including network providers, ASPs, and
other Internet-based service providers), working together to deliver on demand
services to businesses and consumers. We are proud to be associated with
Legend Computer and look forward to working with Legend in fulfilling our
mission of laying the foundation of the New Network Economy."
"We are excited to be working with Cyrus InterSoft," said Mr. Xiong Rui,
Ph.D., R&D Department General Manager, Legend Computer. "The companies have
worked closely together for quite some time and there is a great deal of
synergy between our teams. We look forward to rolling out the results of our
 joint efforts early next year."
Legend Computer's General Manager of Software Business, Mr. Han Zhenjiang,
Ph.D. added, "It was important that our most valued partner, Cyrus InterSoft,
participated in our Happy Linux product announcement at the New Center Hotel
in Beijing on November 23, 2000. This strategic technology alliance is key to
 reaching Legend's goal."

     About Legend Computer
Legend Computer is the largest computing manufacturing and distributing
company in China. It currently holds 31.7% of the Chinese Desktop Market and
30.7% of the entire Chinese Computing Market. Its Parent Company, Legend
Holdings Ltd., is partly owned by the Chinese government. According to a
recent ranking of the Information Technology 100 by Business Week, Legend
Holdings is ranked 8th along with other IT companies including Nokia, Oracle,
Sun Microsystems and Cisco Systems. Legend Computer can be found on the World
 Wide Web at http://www.legend-holdings.com

     About Cyrus InterSoft
Cyrus InterSoft, Inc. was founded in 1998 with the vision of laying the
foundation for the New Network Economy. Cyrus InterSoft is a privately held
corporation headquartered in Minneapolis, Minn. and has offices in North
America and Asia and can be found on the World Wide Web at

     About Speiros
Cyrus InterSoft's flagship technology, Speiros, is an end-to-end,
pre-integrated Internet Operating System, which is comprised of two integrated
distributed systems, I-Start and I-Services. I-Start is a distributed OS
framework, which systematizes distributed run-time environments (I-Start) for
real-time interchange of applications and services. I-Services is a plug-able
service architecture, which (with industry participation) enables a true
economic exchange network or economy. Speiros empowers the Internet with true
economic functionality, including real-time management, distribution and
payment services (B2B or B2C "on the fly"). The Speiros system allows industry
participants to work together in an open "Federation" system to aggregate
distribute and exchange services such as interfaces, applications and
computing services in real time. Just as the World Wide Web provides a
pre-integrated distribution system for content, Speiros standardizes the
distribution of applications and computing services in real time.
