lifeIMAGE Network Surpasses 100 Million Diagnostic Images

NEWTON, Mass., Feb. 22, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- lifeIMAGE, a network for sharing medical information, achieved a significant milestone this week when it surpassed the one hundred million image mark. In the past year lifeIMAGE has logged exceptional health information exchange statistics on its open network. Today, the company's growing network is accessible to over 31,000 physicians affiliated with some of the most prestigious medical centers in the country, including Stanford, Henry Ford, Children's hospitals of Boston & Philadelphia, Geisinger Health System, and Massachusetts General Hospital. 

lifeIMAGE disclosed that:

• The network volume represents 111,000,000 images to date
• 504,000 imaging exams have been exchanged on the network
• 50,000 cases have been electronically transferred among diverse hospitals
• 64,000 exams have been shared among individual care providers
• 298,000 exams captured at remote facilities have been received, reviewed, and ingested into the receiving facility's local PACS and EMR
