LPI to detail new initiatives, new programs and greater availability

    TORONTO, Jan. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- All media are invited to attend the Linux
 Professional Institute (LPI) press conference to be held this week during
 LinuxWorld Expo in New York. LPI, the Linux community's major certification
 body, will make a number of major announcements, including:
 
     -- Achievement of a major milestone in the number of exams delivered;
     -- A new, vendor-neutral process to develop "LPI Approved" books and
        courseware;
     -- A first-of-its-kind initiative to develop and fund international
        affiliates;
     -- An upgrade program for holders of other Linux certifications;
