PAUL, Minn., March 7, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Memorial Blood Centers has named Brad Wood and Colleen McGough Wood, community supporters and prominent contributors in the business community, as co-chairs for this year's 7th annual What's Your Type? event. The annual fundraiser, planned for Thursday, April 21, will benefit Memorial Blood Centers, Minnesota's independent, nonprofit blood center that supplies life-saving blood and critical biomedical services to over 30 area hospitals, including Hennepin County Medical Center, North Memorial Medical Center, Minneapolis Children's Hospital and Clinics.
"What's Your Type? is a major opportunity for us to engage the entire community in our mission of saving lives through blood donation. Brad Wood, a Memorial Blood Centers blood donor for nearly 10 years, is Executive Vice President at McGough—a Twin-Cities-based company that dates back to mid-19th century Ireland and a vital part of the local business community since 1956. A member of the McGough team since 1998, Brad also serves on the Board of Directors for the Ordway Music Theater and Tubman Chrysalis. Colleen McGough Wood, former Director of Marketing at McGough and owner of Metro Dance Center, is currently a member of the Advisory Board for PACER (Parent Advocacy Coalition for Educational Rights). Brad and Colleen have been active in supporting many charitable and non-profit organizations, including Sunshine Foundation, HealthEast Foundation, Courage Center, Friendship Ventures, and Ordway's Circle of Star.
What's Your Type? will be held Thursday, April 21st, 2011 at 704 North Prior Avenue in Saint Paul. Tickets are $75 and go on sale March 7 at www.mbc.org. This fun-filled evening will include live music from local band Mish Mash, delicious food and beverages provided by 15 locally-owned Twin Cities Originals' restaurants, live and silent auctions, and more.
