LSI Logic Classic Run Raises Funds for Milpitas High School Engineering And Computer Academies

    MILPITAS, Calif., April 25 /PRNewswire/ -- The 11th annual LSI Logic
 Classic Run held on Sunday, raised $70,000 for the Milpitas Unified School
 District.  Proceeds will be used as seed money to purchase curriculum
 materials and lab equipment for Milpitas High School's new Engineering
 & Technology Academy.  The funds will also help Milpitas High School's
 Computer Academy purchase new computers for its computer applications and
 graphics labs.

     Richard Boulet, 27, of Berkeley, was the top male finisher in the 10K race
 winning $500 for his time of 31:37.  Brian Lavelle, 26, of San Jose, won
 $200 for his second-place time of 33:30.  San Ramon resident, Steven Chavez,
 won $100 for placing third in a time of 34:07.
     Milpitas resident, Marie Nguyen, 15, was this year's top female runner,
 winning $500 for her time of 41:23.  Chris Irving, 45, of San Jose, received
 $200 for placing second with a time of 43:53.  Angela Jerman, 51, of San Jose,
 won $100 for third place in a time of 44:31.

     Approximately 240 runners and walkers participated in the 10K run and 5K
 walk/run events.
