    CLEVELAND, April 23 /PRNewswire Interactive News Release/ -- The Lubrizol
 Corporation (NYSE:   LZ) announced that the following officers were elected at
 today's Organization Meeting of the Board of Directors.
     Leslie M. Reynolds was elected Corporate Secretary.  Ms. Reynolds, 40,
 joined Lubrizol in 1991 serving as legal counsel and then Assistant Secretary
 since 1997.  Prior to joining Lubrizol, she was an attorney for Squire,
 Sanders & Dempsey where she specialized in employee benefits.  Ms. Reynolds
 received a B.S. in Business Administration with a major in accounting from
 Indiana University and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Illinois.
     Gregory R. Lewis was elected Assistant Secretary.  Mr. Lewis, 42, joined
 Lubrizol in 1984 as a process development engineer and held various
 engineering positions in the company's research and development division.
 After obtaining his law degree in 1992, Mr. Lewis became legal counsel and
 then Assistant to the General Counsel.  Mr. Lewis received a B.S. in Chemical
 Engineering from Purdue University and a Juris Doctorate from Cleveland State
 University.
