BURBANK, Calif., April 23 /PRNewswire Interactive News Release/ -- Warner
Reprise Video announces the April 24th release of the WHAT IT FEELS LIKE FOR A
GIRL retail DVD single from Madonna. Directed by Guy Ritchie, WHAT IT FEELS
LIKE FOR A GIRL (which was banned by MTV and VH-1 but received limited play on
Oxygen and AOL) features Madonna in a series of situations not usually
associated with the female experience. Included in the video are scenes of
Madonna's character stealing a car and blowing up a gas station. Madonna says
that with this video she hopes to "make people ask questions and open
dialogues." The DVD is closed captioned, presented in linear PCM for best
sound quality and will be priced at $9.95.
Additionally, the DVD release coincides with the announcement of Madonna's
first concert tour in seven years this summer. Giving fans a chance to
witness a live performance of various tunes, including WHAT IT FEELS LIKE FOR
A GIRL, Madonna's tour is one of the most eagerly anticipated concert events
 of the summer.
WHAT IT FEELS LIKE FOR A GIRL is the first retail release of new video
material since last year's Music DVD single, which recently received gold
certification for sales. WHAT IT FEELS LIKE FOR A GIRL also joins two other
previously released video singles -- 1998's Ray Of Light and Justify My Love,
which came out in 1990 and shattered all video single sales records. The
unprecedented release of Justify My Love was certified platinum a record
8 times and endures as one of the most tangible examples of Madonna's evolving
 video catalog.
Always known as an innovator, Madonna has received a multitude of awards
and honors for her contribution to the music video art form. Included in
those accolades are a Grammy Award for Best Short Form Video, Best Video of
the year (MTV) and the prestigious Video Vanguard Award (MTV) for lifetime
achievement. A complete listing of Madonna's music home videos is as follows:
"Madonna," "Live - The Virgin Tour," "Ciao Italia - Live," "Justify My Love,"
"The Immaculate Collection," "The Girlie Show - Live Down Under," "Ray Of
Light," "The Video Collection 93:99" and "Music."
