LAS VEGAS and PITTSBURGH, April 23 /PRNewswire Interactive News Release/
-- NAB 2001 - Marconi (Nasdaq: MONI; London), a global provider of advanced
communications solutions, is showcasing its broadband solutions for the
converging electronic media communications industry at the National
Association of Broadcasters (NAB) conference and exhibition in Las Vegas,
Nevada, April 23 - 26. At the core of the Marconi exhibit (Sands - Booth
i6516) will be intelligent broadband network demonstrations that present the
 company's Better Value Broadband solutions.

"Better Value Broadband solutions from Marconi for the broadcast,
entertainment and media industries are represented by a group of managed
content services to the television, film, electronic gaming and entertainment
customers that reduce costs, increase collaboration and operational
efficiencies," said Tom McDonough, Marconi's director of Media &
Entertainment. "At NAB 2001, we're demonstrating broadcast industry
applications that allow customers to use Marconi intelligent broadband
networks to generate new services and, thus, revenue streams."
Marconi's continued support of the NAB conference and exhibition
reinforces the company's focus on client-specific business needs. Marconi's
Enterprise Solutions group will continue this trend by demonstrating its
offerings at industry-specific, solutions-focused events, such as NAB for the
broadcast, entertainment and media markets, rather than engineering and
 technology-focused expositions.

The Marconi NAB Intelligent Broadband Network
Marconi is combining its award-winning broadband routing and switching
solutions with some of the television industry's most innovative solutions
partners to offer attendees a glance at the powerful way in which Marconi is
embarking on transforming communications and information in the broadcast,
 entertainment and media industries.
A live broadband network infrastructure highlighting Marconi's high-speed
routing and switching solutions will be on-site, supporting digital television
and content applications in four solutions areas:

Digital Centralcasting -- In this solutions exhibit, an emerging broadcast
operations model is shown that can leverage Marconi's Better Value Broadband
products. Numerous digital video applications are integrated into a common
managed service offering, reducing costs and increasing efficiency through a
 multi-service Broadband Network Infrastructure.
Content Exchange and Transport -- NAB attendees from video production and
cable programming organizations will be interested in this solution where
high-quality program exchange and transport solutions are demonstrated. This
solution allows customers to use one multi-service broadband network to
deliver real-time video transport and non-real-time file transfer over a
converged solution that offers a flexible element delivery (commercials,
 programming) operation.
Content ASP (Application Service Provider) and Delivery -- The third
solutions set enables next generation content delivery. In this
demonstration, a Marconi broadband solution creates a dynamic service
infrastructure allowing customers to realize new revenue opportunities through
 content enhancement and management services.
Collaborative Production -- Marconi and partner Media.net Communications,
Inc. will demonstrate a customer solution that teams media.net's broadband
network, storage and application solutions enabled by Marconi. A full Content
Collaboration, Management and Distribution solution can decrease production
costs, bring tighter production schedules and better access to content with
more creative control. Marconi announced a relationship with media.net of
 Southern California in February.

     Marconi Solutions Abound at NAB
Marconi's broadcast industry solutions are not limited to the Marconi
booth at NAB. Conference and exhibition attendees will also see Marconi
Better Value Broadband solutions at work at these exhibit stands:

      -- Harris Broadcast (LVCC 5023)
-- Video Products Group (Sands S3155)
-- Artel Video Systems (LVCC L971)
      -- CellStack (Sands E5601)
      -- Lockheed Martin (LVCC L371)
      -- Panasonic Broadcast (LVCC 7020)
