GOLDENDALE, Wash., Jan. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Maryhill Winery, one of Washington state's largest family-owned wine producers, received 11 awards -- including two prestigious Platinum awards -- in Wine Press Northwest magazine's 2008 Platinum Judging competition. Established in 1999 to recognize the "best of the best in the great Northwest," Wine Press Northwest's Platinum Judging awarded only 54 Platinum awards out of the 329 wines submitted to the invitation-only competition.

Maryhill Winery's 2005 Cabernet Franc scored the highly-coveted Double Platinum award, and Maryhill's 2005 Proprietor's Reserve Malbec received Platinum recognition. Only three wineries received two Platinum awards each, signifying a tremendous honor for Maryhill.

"We are incredibly proud that our Cabernet Franc and Reserve Malbec have been included in the elite circle of Platinum winners, and honored that 11 of our wines have been recognized among the best in the region," said Craig Leuthold, founder of Maryhill Winery. "These award-winning wines are a product of the highly-regarded Columbia Valley vineyards we source from. At Maryhill, we strive to provide a wine for every palate, with diverse varietals that showcase the best of Washington state."
