    VALLEY STREAM, N.Y., April 24 /PRNewswire Interactive News Release/ -- New
 York Tri-State teachers looking for money to fund activities that encourage
 family involvement in education can turn to their local McDonald's restaurant
 for help.  McDonald's Tri-State Owners are offering $50,000 in grants to help
 teachers execute programs or activities, such as parent newsletters, parent
 field days, parent-student assemblies and education programs for families,
 that "tie" parents back to the schools and help encourage family participation
 at school.  Educators throughout the New York Tri-State area are eligible and

     The Together in Education grants program is a part McDonald's
 "A+ Parents = A+ Kids" -- a yearlong community initiative to promote the
 importance of family involvement in education.  Through "A+ Parents =
 A+ Kids", local McDonald's Restaurants will offer programs that provide
 teachers the resources they need to encourage family participation at the
 school level; reward families for reading together; recognize family members
 for being involved in their child's education; and help educate parents,
 grandparents and guardians on maximizing their child's learning inside and
 outside classroom.  As a member of the U.S. Department of Education's
 Partnership for Family Involvement in Education (PFIE), New York Tri-State
 McDonald's Restaurants is supporting the organization's mission to increase
 opportunities for families to be more involved in their children's learning at
 school and at home and to use family, school and community partnerships to
