Med Ad News Names Abelson-Taylor Inc. Health-Care Advertising Agency of the Year

    WEST TRENTON, N.J., April 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Med Ad News, the leading
 pharmaceutical business and marketing publication, named Abelson-Taylor Inc.
 as the health-care marketing communications Agency of the Year.  The
 announcement took place Thursday night, April 12, at the 12th annual Manny
 Awards ceremony, presented by Med Ad News.
     The Manny Awards is the largest and most prestigious agency awards event
 in the health-care advertising industry with awards for agencies in 10
 categories.  The ceremony was held at the New York Sheraton Hotel and Towers
 in New York City.
     Abelson-Taylor Inc., led by agency president Dale Taylor, is an
 independent, Chicago-based, health-care advertising agency.  This is the
 second time Abelson-Taylor has been named Agency of the Year, having won this
 distinction in 1999.  Abelson-Taylor ranks 16th on the Med Ad News Top 50
 Advertising Agencies rankings with $35 million in reported gross income on
 about $260 million in worldwide billings.  The Agency of the Year nominees are
 selected based on an extensive list of criteria, including income growth,
 creative talent, management ability, account wins/losses, and staff retention.
     The two other nominated finalists for Agency of the Year were Gerbig
 Snell/Weisheimer & Associates Inc. of Columbus, Ohio, and Lyons Lavey Nickel
 Swift Inc. of New York.
     A special achievement Manny Award for Advertising Person of the Year was
 presented to Ron Pantello, chairman and CEO of LM&P Group and co-chairman of
 Euro RSCG Healthcare.
     In addition, the following awards were presented:
 
     Most Admired Agency -- Cline Davis & Mann; Most Creative Agency --
 Abelson-Taylor; Agency on the Rise -- Accel Healthcare Communications; Most
 Innovative Agency -- CommonHealth; Best Self-Promotion -- Grey Healthcare
 Group Inc.; Best Professional Advertisement -- Depakote, created by Abelson-
 Taylor Inc. for Abbott Laboratories; Best Website -- pacific-com.com for
 Pacific Communications; and Best Holding Company -- Omnicom Group.
