Ma Laboratories is an IT distributor that intentionally and regularly underpays its employees, according to the complaint. The company requires employees to work "off the clock," forces employees to waive their wages and breaks regularly, and avoids paying wages based on actual work time.

This rally supports Ma Laboratories' hourly workers and demands an immediate end to wage theft at Ma Laboratories and other businesses countywide. Learn about workers' rights and legal protections, as well as ways that local organizations are mobilizing to bring justice to workers.

"Ma does not allow employees to have discussions about anything related to the problems of the company's working conditions..." "Defendants' actions against us have made us all very worried and scared." "I believe Ma Labs has violated labor law. Also, they cheated us because we don't know English."

On May 27, 2014, the Santa Clara Superior Court entered a Protective Order to prohibit Ma Labs from retaliating and intimidating employees who may wish to participate in the case. The Court relied in part on California laws that protect wage claimants against immigration-related retaliation.
