MediaSite Launches Spanish Language Product Suite; Codifica Signs on as Reseller for Latin and South America

Apr 25, 2001, 01:00 ET from MediaSite, Inc.

LAS VEGAS, April 25 /PRNewswire/ -- NAB 2001 - MediaSite, Inc., the global
pioneer in providing automated rich media publishing, management, and access
solutions, today announced the availability of their Spanish version of
Publisher and WebFinder. At the same time MediaSite also announced a
partnership with Codifica LLC, a Miami-based subsidiary of Techexport, Inc. to
sell MediaSite's Spanish language products and provide support to customers
 throughout Latin and South America.
Codifica is already involved in sales of systems for streaming and
management of video across content delivery networks. The partnership with
Codifica will enable MediaSite to reach customers in Latin America's broadband
and wireless telecommunications industries, as well as Latin American Internet
service providers, application service providers, media companies and
government agencies. Codifica will be offering the new versions of MediaSite's
Publisher and WebFinder products, making MediaSite the first company to offer
fully functional Spanish language versions of both its indexing and video
 navigation tools.
"This partnership, coupled with the release of the Spanish versions of our
products, is extremely significant," said MediaSite Vice President of
Enterprise Solutions, Mike DeRiso. "According to the Miami Herald, Latin
America may have lagged behind the most advanced countries in the field of
information technology, but it's now running to catch up. One crucial factor
in this effort is the expansion of telecommunications infrastructure in order
to take advantage of the internet and other data transmission applications."
Colombia and Venezuela have developed initiatives aimed at making as many
students as possible computer literate and have proposed region-wide programs
to develop educational content for the Internet. The proposal was made last
year at a meeting with the United Nations. It followed up on a declaration
issued at a meeting of Latin American and Caribbean countries calling for
cooperation in developing information technology in the region.
"We feel that video streaming presents attractive opportunities in the
corporate world and in the arena of distance learning in Latin America, where
broadband or T1 lines are already in use. The professionals at MediaSite have
prepared the right tools for corporations and learning programs to create
effective presentations which will deliver their content to users by Internet,
intranet or extranet. With a reasonable investment, companies, educational
institutions and government agencies in Latin America, Central America and the
Caribbean can present their message in the global marketplace," said Barbara
 K. Sugarman VP of Marketing, Codifica LLC.
