MidAmerica Bancorp, Holding Company for Bank of Louisville, Declares Quarterly Cash Dividend of $0.24

    LOUISVILLE, Ky., April 26 /PRNewswire/ -- The Board of Directors of
 MidAmerica Bancorp (Amex:   MAB), holding company of Bank of Louisville,
 declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.24 per share on April 26, 2001.  This
 is an increase in quarterly cash dividends of 7.6% over quarterly cash
 dividends in 2000.  (current share equivalent, as adjusted for the November
 2000 3% stock dividend).  The dividend will be payable on June 8, 2001, to
 shareholders of record as of May 18, 2001.
     Bank of Louisville, and its holding company, MidAmerica Bancorp, is the
 largest independent locally managed bank in the Louisville metropolitan area,
 with approximately $1.7 billion in assets and 30 banking centers.
