Midway Airlines Announces Non-Stop Service to Dayton, Ohio

     Midway Airlines Corporation (Nasdaq: MDWY) today announced new nonstop
 service between Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) and Dayton, OH
 (DAY).  Introductory fares start as low as $69 each way, and service begins on
 May 22, 2001.  Dayton marks the announcement of Midway's fifth new city this
 year.  Midway will offer three daily nonstop flights each way between RDU and
 Dayton.

 operate 268 daily non-stop flights to and from their hub at Raleigh-Durham
 International Airport.  Midway serves 33 destinations in 19 states.  The
 Company recently took delivery of its ninth Boeing 737-700, creating a fleet
 of 38 aircraft, including five Fokker F100s, nine Boeing 737-700s and 24
 Canadair Regional Jets.  Midway flies one of the youngest all-jet fleets in
 the world, with an average age of less than three years.

 purchase and a 30-day maximum stay.  Roundtrip purchase and Saturday night
 stay are required.  Travel must be completed by July 12, 2001.  Tickets must
 be issued on or before April 26, 2001.  Tickets are non-refundable; however,
 changes may be made for $100 plus any applicable fare difference.  Fares do
 not include Passenger Facility Charges of up to $3 and segment taxes of $2.75
 per flight segment.  A flight segment is defined as a takeoff and a landing.
