Midway Airlines Announces Nonstop Service to Los Angeles, CA

     Midway Airlines Corporation (Nasdaq:   MDWY) today announced new nonstop
 service between Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) and Los Angeles, CA
 (LAX). Introductory fares start as low as $99 each way, and service begins on
 June 1, 2001.  Los Angeles marks the announcement of Midway's sixth new city
 this year.  Midway will offer one daily nonstop flight each way between RDU
 and LAX, utilizing its Boeing 737-700 aircraft.

 flights to San Jose and Denver with new nonstop service to Los Angeles," said

 may be made for $100 plus any applicable fare difference.  Fares do not
 include Passenger Facility Charges of up to $4.50 and segment taxes of $2.75
 per flight segment.  A flight segment is defined as a takeoff and a landing.
