Mindport Announces New Partnerships and Initiatives at NAB

Apr 23, 2001, 01:00 ET from Mindport

    LAS VEGAS, April 23 /PRNewswire Interactive News Release/ -- NAB --
Mindport, a provider of software products and support services for traditional
and broadband distributors of pay media, will announce a variety of new
partnerships and initiatives at this week's National Association of
Broadcasters (NAB) trade show in Las Vegas.
Mindport's partnership announcements include alliances with Compaq and
Better TV. For Compaq, Mindport provides end-to-end rights and content
management expertise for digital broadcasting and video over IP. The Mindport
products handle the scheduling, packaging and delivery of media, over Compaq's
 streaming platform.
The Better TV relationship will enable Mindport's Media Commerce
Technologies products to incorporate Better TV's comprehensive personalization
solution for interactive TV and broadband services.
Mindport will also discuss the company's future direction and upcoming
initiatives, including an intensified commitment to customer service (with
more details provided at the company's April 28 user conference), efforts to
integrate existing product offerings more closely (to provide a genuinely
seamless cross-platform suite), and plans to capitalize on expected rapid
growth in the emerging markets of digital content distribution, streaming
media and interactive TV. The recent announcement of Jan Steenkamp as CEO of
MIH Technologies is part of these ongoing initiatives. Steenkamp, current
OpenTV CEO, will oversee the international television, Internet and technology
solutions group that includes sister companies, OpenTV and Irdeto as well as
 Mindport.
Mindport's global digital rights and revenue protection provider, Sentriq,
is also announcing partnerships with PacketVideo. Mindport Sentriq has
collaborated with PacketVideo to create digital rights management solutions
for wireless distribution of content. In addition, Sentriq will demonstrate
the recently announced Hosted version of its Digital Rights Network, a
real-time video digital rights management technology, which provides a secure
and scalable platform for the protection of high-value content delivered over
 the web.
More information on all of these announcements and initiatives can be
obtained by visiting Mindport's booth at NAB. The 50 x 50 booth, # T2353, is
located in the south end of the Sands Expo and Convention Center, one aisle
 over from OpenTV.
