SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 1, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The Minerva Schools at KGI, offering a reinvented university experience for the brightest and most motivated students from around the world, today announced the appointment of two renowned educators to the Minerva team. Dr. Brian Ross is Dean of the College of Social Sciences at the Minerva Schools at KGI, and Dr. John Percival is Dean of the College of Business.
Dr. Brian Ross joins Minerva from the University of Illinois, where he most recently served as Executive Associate Dean for Social/Behavior Sciences and Area Centers at the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. In addition, he continued teaching as a professor of psychology. Dr. Ross's research throughout his career has focused on understanding how people learn, remember, and solve problems. Dr. Ross earned a Ph.D. in Psychology from Stanford, a M.A. in Psychology from Yale, a M.S. in Mathematical Statistics from Rutgers, and a B.S. in Psychology from Brown.
Dr. John Percival brings to Minerva deep experience in both teaching and global business. Prior to Minerva he was the founder and CEO of J.R.P. Associates, a provider of executive education and consulting in finance for clients in both the public and private sectors across the U.S., Europe, and Asia. He taught finance at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania from 1971 until June of 2014. At Wharton, he held the positions of Adjunct Professor of Finance, Assistant Professor of Finance, and Associate Director and Associate Vice Dean of the M.B.A. Program. He earned a Ph.D., M.B.A., and B.A. from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
Dr. Ross and Dr. Percival join the growing, global team of faculty at the Minerva Schools at KGI. The deans at Minerva are actively involved in ensuring that students succeed; they not only organize and direct the curriculum for their college, but also hire and manage faculty. All courses at Minerva are conducted live as interactive seminars through its proprietary Active Learning Forum, providing a unique opportunity to attract and hire extraordinary faculty who live anywhere around the globe.
