Minnesota Department of Revenue: Brooklyn Park Business Loses Sales Tax Permit

Apr 11, 2001, 01:00 ET from Minnesota Department of Revenue

ST. PAUL, Minn., April 11 /PRNewswire/ -- The Minnesota Department of
Revenue recently revoked the sales tax permit of a Brooklyn Park business.
The department revoked the permit for failing to pay state sales tax.
CCR of Minneapolis, Inc., doing business as CCR Concrete Coating and
Repair, is located at 8601 73rd Ave. N., Suite 1. The department alleges this
concrete repair, coating and sealing business owes the state more than
$5,200 in sales tax, penalty and interest.
Minnesota sales tax is a "trust tax." Customers who pay sales tax trust
and expect businesses to send it to the state on their behalf. It must not be
used by a business as additional operating capital or for any other purpose.
If a person or company makes taxable retail sales in Minnesota after
revocation of a Minnesota sales tax permit, the action is considered a felony
 under Minnesota law.
