    ATLANTA, April 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Marce Fuller, president and chief
 executive officer of Mirant Corporation (NYSE:   MIR), today announced that
 first quarter 2001 earnings will be released on Wednesday, April 25 after the
 close of market.  Mirant will host an analyst call at 1 p.m. on Thursday,
 April 26.
     During the call, the company will discuss earnings, worldwide operations,
 general business updates and expectations, including issues relating to the
 California and European energy markets.  Investors, media and the public may
