 announced it will issue the company's first-quarter financial results on
 Wednesday, April 25, 2001, prior to market open.  In conjunction with the
 announcement of its results, Monsanto will hold a conference call at 8 a.m.
 Central Daylight Time.  The call will focus on these results and will discuss
 second-quarter and full-year expectations.  The call may also include aspects
