BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y., April 5, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Monte Nido & Affiliates programs, with twenty programs nationally, dedicated to treating people with eating disorders, is opening Clementine, a residential program exclusively for adolescent girls aged 12 – 17 in Briarcliff Manor, New York in April 2017.
Studies show when an individual struggles with an eating disorder for more than three years, recovery is more difficult. With Clementine, adolescents receive customized treatment that significantly correlates with long-term health and greatly improved chances of full recovery. Located in an intimate home setting, in a suburban village of Westchester County north of New York City, Clementine blends personalized and sophisticated care with the latest research and strategies for adolescents struggling with eating disorders. The highly specialized medical, psychiatric, nutritional and clinical approach, sensitive to the developmental needs of adolescent girls, offers the highest level of care outside of a hospital setting. The program is also structured to accommodate Kosher needs at Orthodox standards.
Overseen by Dr. Jahraus and Dr. Ozbolt, with Clinical Director Danielle Small, LMFT, the Clementine program's medical and psychiatric team offers decades of experience with adolescents and their families. "Eating disorders are devastating from both a psychological and medical perspective," said Chief Medical Officer Dr. Joel Jahraus, MD, FAED, CEDS, an internal medicine physician who has cared for the medical complications of children, adolescents and adults with eating disorders for over 22 years. "Serious growth and development issues may occur with eating disorders, and research demonstrates the need to treat the eating disorder as early in the course of the illness as possible. At Clementine, we uphold the highest standards of care and safety throughout the course of treatment. We are thrilled to have designed a program specifically for adolescents and their families," said Medical Director and Board-Certified Adolescent Psychiatrist Lauren Ozbolt, MD. "Families not only notice the environment we have created for their daughter's recovery, but also the genuine care, competence, and creativity in the staff, as well as the integrated comprehensive academic support and strong philosophy of collaborations with outpatient providers, schools, and family."
Clementine Briarcliff Manor offers a continuum of care as teens can step down to Monte Nido's day treatment program in Manhattan or other locations across the country. Clementine Briarcliff Manor is preceded by Clementine programs in Portland, OR and Miami, FL.
