DALLAS, April 23 /PRNewswire Interactive News Release/ -- Every year, you
probably get the same answer when asking mom what she wants for Mother's Day
-- "All I want is your love." Bailey Banks & Biddle(R) Fine Jewelers found
out differently. According to a recent survey*, in addition to your love,
mothers also want to be adorned in jewels and whisked away for a weekend.
Whether it's a piece of jewelry or a trip to St. Bart's, mothers love
surprises -- 86 percent of the mothers polled are overwhelmingly in favor of
being surprised with a luxurious gift.
Mothers' top choice for a Mother's Day gift is a get-away weekend with
38 percent of the votes; with jewelry the second choice by a slim margin of
31 percent; and a day at the spa coming in third with 24 percent of the votes.
When asked where they would like their loved ones to shop for Mother's Day
gifts, 52 percent of the respondents picked a jeweler over florists
(23 percent) and, thirdly, apparel stores (18 percent).
Once the loved ones are at the jeweler, diamonds continue to be a girl's
best friend. Thirty-two percent of the mothers want a pair of diamond stud
earrings and 29 percent, a diamond line bracelet. A strand of pearls is
another top choice with 28 percent of the vote.
Gold hasn't lost its luster to mothers. When considering the type of
precious metal for her Mother's Day present, 64 percent of the mothers polled
chose gold, with silver coming in second place with 17 percent of the votes
and platinum a close third with 16 percent.
Whether she's wiping your tears away or sending a greeting card from miles
away, mom has been there through thick and thin. This Mother's Day, Bailey
Banks & Biddle makes showing your appreciation for the perfect mother a little
easy by letting you know exactly what she wants.
