    ANAHEIM, Calif., April 10 /PRNewswire/ --
MTI Technology Corp. (Nasdaq: MTIC), a leading provider of online information
storage and business solutions, today announced its Enterprise Building Block
(EBB) storage architecture based on high-availability Fibre Channel fabric
 switches.
MTI has expanded the connectivity options available for use with MTI's
integrated Storage Area Network (SAN) and Network Attached Storage (NAS)
technologies by engineering its EBB to enable highly-available and truly
scalable SAN implementations. By providing up to 64 ports for connecting
servers and storage, MTI is addressing today's most challenging data
management requirements, such as scaling server and storage resources quickly
and independently to meet fast-paced data growth, businesses can improve
resource utilization, reduce the backup window, and improve application
 availability to support 24 X 7 X 365 needs.
The new enhancements expand the range and scope of MTI's Connection
Services, which are an integral component of each MTI Vivant storage solution.
Connection Services provides high availability data access between open
systems host servers and fault tolerant MTI Vivant storage servers. Flexible
configuration options enable IT organizations to quickly adapt to changing
business requirements by providing seamless scalability for adding more hosts
servers, more capacity and more processing power on an as-needed basis.
"MTI is pleased to offer the intelligent management, administration,
security and scalability of Fibre Channel-based storage networks to our
customers worldwide," said Russ Ritchie, Director of Product Marketing.
Ritchie added, "We offer an exceptional range of connectivity options for
customers who want to reduce complexity and costs by consolidating storage,
simplifying management and maximizing data availability."
Since launching the Vivant series, MTI has installed hundreds of
integrated SAN and NAS solutions over the past several quarters. MTI's Vivant
storage systems provide high availability and flexible, scalable solutions to
meet today's mission critical data consolidation requirements and investment
protection for future growth. They also support leading host operating system
 platforms and databases.
Each member of the MTI Vivant series implements the MTI DataServices
Architecture. MTI DataServices include fault tolerant RAID-based storage
arrays, integrated SAN and NAS Connection Services, Management Services tools
for simplified storage administration, Backup Services for enterprise data
backup and restore, Replication Services for local and remote data copy, and
 comprehensive Support Services.
