Internet Filtering Solution Targets Enterprise and Government Customers

Apr 10, 2001, 01:00 ET from N2H2, Inc.

SEATTLE, April 10 /PRNewswire/ -- N2H2, Inc. (Nasdaq: NTWO), an Internet
management company specializing in fast and scalable filtering solutions,
today announced the release of N2H2 Internet Filtering for Microsoft Proxy 2.0
(N2H2 for Proxy 2.0). This product expands N2H2's platform filtering solutions
to include the NT environment, increasing the company's reach to enterprise
and government agency customers, as well as education customers who run on the
NT server platform. The release of N2H2 for Proxy 2.0 follows the release of
N2H2 Internet Filtering for Microsoft ISA Server 2000 in February, which was
N2H2's first product utilizing a plug-in software model.
N2H2's filtering technology is designed to empower organizations to
control Internet usage costs, reduce legal liabilities and increase employee
productivity by providing only the most relevant Internet content to users.
Specifically, N2H2 for Proxy 2.0 allows organizations to better utilize the
Internet by giving employees access to appropriate Web content specific to the
organization and its work environment. In addition, caching and network
performance can be dramatically improved by limiting access to inappropriate
streaming media and large graphic files that take up valuable storage and
bandwidth. N2H2 for Proxy 2.0 also allows organizations the flexibility to
choose what content will be allowed on their networks.
N2H2 for Proxy 2.0 features include access to N2H2's database, the largest
and most comprehensive filtering database in the industry, representing
approximately 18 million URLs. Organizations can also choose what content will
be allowed on their networks, and additionally, customize filtering by
selecting the type of content, categories and time of day for specific users
or groups. Other product features include advanced reporting capabilities such
as content blocking by category, top domains accessed and user groups.
"With a 40% market share in the North American K-12 education space, we
have proven our ability to provide an effective, highly scalable and
comprehensive filtering solution to our customers," said Peter Nickerson,
CEO of N2H2. "The launch of N2H2 for Proxy 2.0 enhances our established
filtering platform and along with the ISA solution, increases our ability to
service the Internet filtering and Internet access management needs of larger
 enterprise and government market customers."
In addition to the N2H2 for ISA and N2H2 for Proxy 2.0 products, N2H2 is
committed to developing additional filtering solutions that run on a variety
of popular computing platforms, including a future product utilizing the Sun
Solaris environment. Products such as the Microsoft ISA and Proxy 2.0
solutions can be downloaded, installed and ready for use in less than one
hour. The products are available for a free 30-day trial or purchase from
N2H2's Web site, www.n2h2.com. N2H2 Internet Filtering for Microsoft Proxy 2.0
is compatible with Microsoft Proxy Server 2.0 running in either an NT or
 Windows 2000 environment.
