Naked-mile.com to Host Live Webcast at University of Michigan

Apr 09, 2001, 01:00 ET from Cyber Management Inc.

ANN ARBOR, Mich., April 9 /PRNewswire/ -- The following press release is
being issued by Cyber Management Inc.

What's good enough for Madonna is good enough for the University of
 Michigan.
Activate, the Seattle-based company behind the Material Girl's
record-breaking live London webcast, will descend on the school later this
month for the first-ever live webcast of the infamous Naked Mile Run.
For the last 12 years, students there have shed their clothes and ran to
celebrate the last day of class. This year's event will take place Tuesday,
 April 17.
Only this year, Activate will be there -- broadcasting the event live on
 naked-mile.com.
"It's going to be really cool," said Activate spokesman Todd Bucciarelli.
"We are the leader in live events. When you are doing a live event, you can't
afford for anything to go wrong."
"Anytime there is something live, there is a dimension of the unknown," he
added. "That makes it a lot more fun."
Naked-mile.com and Cyber Management Inc. of Atlanta will host this year's
event, broadcasting images from a blimpcam as well as from camera crews on the
 ground.
Viewers will see an image with roughly 15-18 frames per second, depending
on their internet service provider's performance at the time of the event.
"We want to share the fun we've had in Ann Arbor with the entire world,"
said a CMI spokesperson. "Cyber Management has done 30-minute videos of the
event for the last few years, but we wanted to appeal to a wider audience."
"It's a premier college event," he added. "It's fun, and people should
 know about it."
