NAR: 'Realtor.com is Number One'

Apr 19, 2001, 01:00 ET from National Association of Realtors

CHICAGO, April 19 /PRNewswire/ -- The National Association of Realtors(R)
today assured its members that Realtor.com(R) remains the number one real
estate site in traffic, listings and time spent on the site, and urged
Realtors(R) to ignore misleading claims by competitors.
The latest numbers from Media Metrix show that Realtor.com(R) received
2,847,000 unique visits in February and carried 1,524,327 listings, more than
any other real estate site. Equally important, the average visitor looked at
24.7 pages and stayed on the site for 12.6 minutes Visitors to the closest
competitor's site looked at an average of only 6.6 pages for a total of 4.7
 minutes per visit.
"Realtors(R) should not be confused by competitors' inflated claims. It's
clear that no matter how you analyze the numbers, Realtor.com(R) is the
category leader. What's particularly important is that each visitor is
looking at more properties and visiting more Realtors(R)' web sites on
Realtor.com(R) than anywhere else," said NAR President Richard Mendenhall.

The National Association of Realtors(R), "The Voice for Real Estate," is
America's largest trade association, representing more than 760,000 members
involved in all aspects of the residential and commercial real estate
 industries.
