    CLEVELAND, April 19 /PRNewswire/ -- National City Corporation (NYSE:   NCC)
 announced on behalf of its subsidiary banks that its prime rate has been
 lowered from 8.0 percent to 7.5 percent, effective immediately.  The rate was
 last changed on March 21, 2001 when National City lowered its prime rate from
 8.5 percent to 8.0 percent.
