COLUMBUS, Ohio, April 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Nationwide Insurance's Web site
www.nationwideinsurance.com has been chosen as one of the country's top
20 property-casualty insurance company Web sites and the #1 in usability.
The selection was made by kasina, a New York-based company offering
strategic e-business consulting services to financial services companies.
Kasina said Nationwide has been able to design a top site "by carefully
organizing content in an intuitive manner and by breaking up text into easy-
to-read chunks." It said the site is visually appealing, and the navigation
 scheme remains consistent throughout.
And, Nationwide was commended for being among one of the few financial
services companies to offer content in Spanish, going well beyond the offering
of any other property-casualty insurer. The site offers product information
and an agent locator in Spanish.
Kasina said the best aspect of Nationwide's web site is its integration of
features. "On nearly every page, users are presented not only with a
consistent navigational scheme, but also with a list of Related Tools. The
Nationwide Web site remains one step ahead of the user, anticipating the
user's needs and providing the necessary information or links," it said.
Kasina said of some 1,000 U.S. property-casualty insurance companies, only
 284 have Web sites.
Nationwide Insurance, based in Columbus, Ohio, is one of the country's
leading property-casualty insurers. It is the country's fourth largest
homeowners insurer and the fifth largest auto insurer.
