 (Nasdaq: NTKK), a competitive provider of broadband telecommunications
 services, today announced the appointment of Gerry A. Simone to the newly
 created position of senior vice president and chief communications officer.
 Simone will report to Net2000's Chairman and CEO, Charlie Thomas, and be based
 in the company's Northern Virginia headquarters with oversight for creating
 and managing the company's external programs, including national media
 relations and corporate marketing communications.
     In this role, Simone will leverage her more than 20 years of experience in
 building dominant identities for fast-growth, competitive telecom and
 technology companies, to further differentiate Net2000 in the race for a
 dominant share of the $240 billion U.S. competitive broadband
 telecommunications marketplace.
     A veteran of the technology sector, Simone has served as in-house and
 agency communications counsel to global telecommunications and information
 technology companies, Internet start-ups, financial institutions, foreign
 governments and diversified public companies involved in multiple
 acquisitions.  As the communications chief for McLean,Va-based
 telecommunications carrier LCI International, she orchestrated the public
 campaign that supported that company's emergence as one of FORTUNE's  top 100
