Net2000 Appoints Vice President, General Manager For Richmond, Virginia Operations

    HERNDON, Va., April 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Net2000 Communications, Inc.
 (Nasdaq:   NTKK), a competitive provider of broadband telecommunications
 services for businesses, today announced the appointment of Edward Rowan as
 the new vice president and general manager for the company's Richmond,
 Virginia sales operations.
     Rowan previously served as a branch director with Net2000 in the
 Washington, DC region. In this new position, he will direct the continued
 growth of business in the region from Richmond to the Virginia Beach-Hampton
 Roads area. Since 1999, Net2000 has maintained sales and network operations
 facilities in the Richmond area.
     Prior to joining Net2000 in 2000, Rowan held various sales leadership
 positions in the telecommunications industry. He was selected to open
 Allegiance Telecom's first sales office in the Washington, DC area, and,
 before that, spent eight years with Bell Atlantic, most recently serving as a
 regional manager on a team responsible for build that company's long-distance
 product line.
