NetBrowser Partners With Cyclades to Embed e-Guardian(R) Agent

NetBrowser Embeds e-Guardian Agent Within Cyclades-TS100 Device

Apr 10, 2002, 01:00 ET from NetBrowser Communications, Inc.

SAN RAMON, Calif., April 10 /PRNewswire/ -- NetBrowser Communications,
Inc., the leader in remote critical facilities monitoring solutions, announced
today that it has reached an agreement with Cyclades Corporation, the leader
in Linux connectivity that provides networking solutions using Linux and Open
Source technology, to embed its e-Guardian(R) Agent software into the
 Cyclades-TS100 secure device server.
The new agreement allows NetBrowser's customers to safeguard their
enterprise-wide critical power, environmental, fire safety and physical
security machinery through a single device. "e-Guardian(R) is one of the most
innovative uses of our hardware we have seen, allowing users to manage all
critical Zero Layer(TM) equipment across the globe over a single reliable and
secure IP network," said Daniel Dalarossa, CEO and co-founder of Cyclades
 Corporation.
Customers such as Footlocker and Genuity have recently installed the
e-Guardian(R) Enabled TS100 devices at many of their data centers and call
centers to manage their enterprise-wide critical power, environmental and fire
safety machinery. This new NetBrowser monitoring appliance provides greater
reliability than existing devices while reducing the cost of implementing
 e-Guardian(R) by a significant degree.
The e-Guardian(R) Enabled TS100 device brings together one powerful,
reliable and economical solution at a value that is unmatched. The device
supports one Ethernet 10/100BT LAN connection and one RS-232/RS-485 for serial
connection. In addition, the dual software selectable RS-232/RS-485 support
is critical as it ensures that all aspects of the e-Guardian(R) solution
maintain the flexibility, technology leadership and value.
Cyclades Corporation joins other key equipment vendor partners who have
already adapted their machinery to be e-Guardian(R) Enabled. "We welcome
Cyclades as a partner in enhancing our solution for the Enterprise. Our
customers now have more choices and better value in choosing the device
accessories that best meet their needs," commented Jonathan Buckley, vice
president of marketing and business development for NetBrowser Communications.
NetBrowser's current product suite, e-Guardian(R), enables its Fortune
1000 customers to manage their enterprise-wide critical power, environmental,
fire safety and physical security machinery upon which their critical networks
depend through a standard web-browser from anywhere. NetBrowser refers to
this layer of critical equipment as the Zero Layer(TM), in recognition that
there is a facilities foundation layer that sits beneath the 7-Layer OSI
model. e-Guardian(R) serves as a compliment to major network management
systems by incorporating the network-based monitoring of the Zero Layer(TM),
typically found to cause 30 to 50 percent of network and IT outages. The
result of the technology is greater network uptime at less cost for companies
dependent on electronic equipment for their economic survival.
