Network Associates Names CEO George Samenuk as Chairman of the Board

Robert Pangia and Robert Dutkowsky Join Network Associates Board of Directors

 Network Associates, Inc. (Nasdaq: NETA), a leading provider of network
 security and availability solutions for e-business, announced that
 George Samenuk has been appointed as the company's chairman of the board.
 Network Associates' chief executive officer and president since
 January 3, 2001, Samenuk will assume responsibilities for overseeing the Board
 of Network Associates, Inc., effective immediately.  Samenuk also serves as
 chairman of the board for McAfee.com (Nasdaq: MCAF).
     In addition to Samenuk's appointment, the board of directors has also
 named Robert W. Pangia and Robert M. Dutkowsky to the board, bringing the
 total number of directors to seven.

 investment banking industry experience.  From 1987 to 1996, Pangia held a
 number of senior level management roles at PaineWebber Inc. in New York, most
 recently as the executive vice president.  Pangia has 15 years of experience
 at a number of leading Wall Street firms, including Drexel Burnham Lambert and
 Kidder, Peabody & Co. Inc.  Pangia also serves on the board of directors for
 ICOS Corp., Idec Pharmaceuticals Corp. and National Healing Corp.  Pangia is a
 graduate of Brown University and holds an MBA from Columbia University.
     Bob Dutkowsky is the chairman, president and chief executive officer
 GenRad Inc., a global leader of electronics manufacturing productivity
 solutions.  Dutkowsky has 25 years of technology industry experience, and
 previously held a number of senior level positions with both EMC and IBM.
 Prior to joining GenRad, Dutkowsky was president of Data General, a division
 of EMC Corp.  Additionally, Dutkowsky is a veteran of IBM, having spent
 20 years with the company in a number of sales, marketing and senior
 management positions.  Dutkowsky is a graduate of Cornell University.
