LOS ANGELES, March 3, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- When advertising executive J. J. Robertson asked thousands of Americans, "If you were president, how would you lead the country?" as part of The American Meaning of Life Project (a nationwide statistically significant study):
- 0.5 percent said, as president, they'd watch the nation continue its descent into hell
- 1 percent would sit back and let God run the country
- 1 percent refused the job — even hypothetically
- 5 percent said they'd run the country, but they don't know how
- 17 percent would lead America toward the goal of everyone finishing their lives socially and economically equal
- 35 percent would lead America toward the goal of everyone being born socially and economically equal
- 40 percent outlined specific policies
The policies they outlined included: they'd debate America's immigration policy and its wealth inequality. But above all, regardless of whether they usually vote Republican or Democrat, they'd create opportunity for Americans.
"It's jobs—skillful jobs that pay a decent wage that many Americans believe the nation needs now," J. J. Robertson explains, "Not the American Dream pre-wrapped in a bow to anyone who asks for it, but a chance—a genuine chance—for every woman, man, and child across this country to live their life with dignity and purpose."
"Are You Buying This? drips with intelligent emotional data, allowing you to understand how American consumers tick. A must-read for anyone in marketing or advertising." —Derek Robson, Managing Partner, Goodby, Silverstein & Partners
