Nissho Iwai American Corporation Acquires Patent Rights to Automotive Seat Backpack for Consumer Electronics

    NEW YORK, April 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Nissho Iwai American Corporation
 (NIAC), one of the world's largest global trading companies, has purchased
 several domestic and international patents from Meritt Electronics, a division
 of Ttirem, Inc. The newly acquired patents are for a portable backpack for
 consumer electronics. These versatile backpacks can be attached to the back of
 or in between an automobile's front seats, providing users with mobile high
 technology entertainment.
     Though compact in its construction, these backpacks are roomy enough to
 house various combinations of consumer electronics including Video Cassette
 Players, DVD players, and video game players with TV/LCD monitors, providing
 rear seat passengers with "entertainment-on-demand" while on the road.
     Thousands of these products have already been sold worldwide. In addition
 to existing products, NIAC is planning to introduce new devices shortly this
 year to expand the market for mobile video products.
