Nokia and Tellabs to Develop Solutions for Next-Generation Mobile Networks

    LISLE, Ill., April 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Tellabs announced today that it has
 signed an agreement with Nokia Networks, the infrastructure arm of Nokia
 Corporation, to develop products that help mobile carriers migrate to third-
 generation (3G) wireless networks. This agreement is another step in the
 previously announced collaboration between Nokia and Tellabs.
     Under terms of the agreement, Tellabs and Nokia will further develop an
 integrated transmission solution for the 3G radio access network for Nokia.
 Tellabs also will expand its network management system, the MartisDXX(R)
 Manager system, to control transmission equipment and provide end-to-end
 management for the 3G asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) radio access
 transmission network.

 platform to easily monitor their networks and quickly deliver new services,"

     To help quickly meet customer demand for 3G solutions, Tellabs is
